BOOK LAUNCH - 1 October
It was standing room only in the lecture room at Davy’s Wine Vaults on Thursday 1st October when local historian and author Diana Rimel introduced the new booklet on the Ashburnham Triangle.
More than 100 people attended the book launch and wine-tasting party and around 70 copies of her revised, updated and expanded volume on the history, architecture and significance of this area were sold.
The evening was opened formally by Greenwich West Ward councillor and Greenwich Council executive member Maureen O’Mara, who is a long standing Triangle resident and a keen supporter of the Ashburnham Triangle Association almost since its inception.
Some very talented musicians led by local resident Octavia Stott entertained guests while they tried, with mixed success, to identify a selection of wines from around the world. With good food, lovely wine, excellent music and an interesting and very stimulating talk by Diana, the evening was widely acclaimed as a great success. Especially by the lucky winners of the 12 raffle prizes all donated by local businesses and members of the Ashburnham Triangle Association.
The ATA wishes, once again, to thank everyone who came to the party and, in particular, those who worked so hard to organise the event and those who gave so generously to provide such an attractive range of raffle prizes.
